About Me

Hey, I'm Jeremy Kotz! I'm a Game Design and Development student at Rochester Institute of Technology. I have had a lifelong passion for designing games, uploading my first game online at just nine years old when I first discovered Scratch. Through my years of personal experience, education at RIT, and individual research, I've honed my skills as a game designer. My primary focus is in the field of game design, including mechanics, technical, systems, and level design. I also have extensive experience working on all other aspects of game development, including production, programming, art direction, and UI/UX both on teams and as a solo developer. I'm skilled in a variety of tools and languages, including Unity, GameMaker, C#, C++, JavaScript, GML, HTML, CSS, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Autodesk Maya, and Aseprite.I've also achieved a number of accomplishments as a game designer. My submission to the GMTK Game Jam 2026— the largest ever game jam by entrant count — placed in the top 1.5% of over 10,500 games. I was awarded as the sole winner of RIT's IGM x Granola.gg Game Jam, earning an invitation to present at the Granola.gg launch event in collaboration with San Francisco Game Development in 2024. My current project, Pelican Post, was awarded as the Grand Prize Winner and Excellence in Narrative Winner at RPI GameFest 2025. Additionally, it was featured in the Wholesome Direct 2026, reaching over 6.6 million impressions across social media platforms.
